Our “Q & A” question last week was: “I have been thinking about straightening my teeth. How do I know if I might be a candidate for Invisalign?”

Our thoughts:
Invisalign is a great way to straighten your teeth without needing to have traditional braces. It involves a series of clear trays that slowly move your teeth to correct minor crowding and crookedness and other minor problems. A lot of patients like Invisalign due to the fact that the trays are barely visible, easy to use, and easy to clean. However if you have moderate to severe crowding or other complications with your bite, you would probably benefit from traditional braces rather than Invisalign.

The best way to know for sure is to have a consultation with your dentist. If you have been advised you should have traditional braces and are worried about esthetics, please also ask about clear brackets. At Oakwood Dental, we offer a free consultation where we listen carefully to what you may want to improve about your smile and to determine the best treatment for you. We offer both Invisalign and traditional braces in our office for many cases, and because we are in-network with many insurance companies and also have offers for patients without dental benefits, we have made it affordable for many families who did not think they would be able to afford orthodontic treatment for themselves or their children. We are a general dentistry office, so many patients love that they can have all of their dental needs met in one office: you can schedule your and your family’s regular cleanings, exams, and general dental appointments at the same time as your orthodontic appointments to save you time and to ensure that your overall dental health is kept at the highest priority during your orthodontic treatment.

We would love to serve you and your family and help you achieve great health and a beautiful smile!
